Not another dime, Chuck

Who knew that DSCC stood for, "Democratic Senators' Country Club"?

I invite you to pledge to NOT donate money or time to the DSCC, DCCC or ANY candidate who does not unequivocally state  that they will support the winner of the Democratic primary in  Connecticut.  All the way from senators down to your local candidate for dogcatcher.

Well, well, we are back to the days of smoke-filled rooms (without the smoke).  The party bosses are picking the candidate, while the actual vote is a mere technicality.

I'm so disgusted with the Democratic party.  For a while, I thought their impotence was just a lack of framing and focus.  Now I realize that Congress is just a racket.  Left, right, it doesn't matter - as long as you are in the club.  Oh, be sure to cast a few symbolic votes to keep the low-dollar donors happy, but definitely make sure you give the big-dollar donors everything they want.  The gravy train keeps on rolling.  Your worst fear is that you might have to give back the keys to the lobbyists' lockers at Morton's.

They do not understand that their loyalties must lie with the Constitution and the American people, and that both are under attack by the right wing majority.  However, it seems their loyalties are to themselves and their country club buddies.

Thus, I invite you to pledge to not support the DSCC, DCCC or ANY candidate who will not state their support for the winner of the Democratic primary in  Connecticut.  If you wish, you may also say how much you have given to Democratic causes.  I've given about $1000 since 2003 to various Democratic candidates.

I know that it is harsh to suggest not supporting ANY Democrat at all until they make their position clear, but the issue is democracy and democracy is under attack.  If we want democracy subverted, the Republicans are perfectly capable of that.

Call your local candidate!  Post the results here:

    You take this too far.

I agree with the part about not contributing to the DSCC, but I disagree with making this a litmus test for the rest of the candidates across the country. We need to support them directly and not make every race a Lieberman race. Support Ned, support the other candidates.

...the DCCC, the DNC, Ned Lamont, and Bruce Braley in IA-01 (my home state although I never lived in that district), but I purposely haven't given to the DSCC specifically because of Schumer's suggesting they'd support Lieberman if Lamont is the Democratic nominee.

Adams is totally in the pocket of Big Whale Oil, and Hancock is a whore for the Buggywhip Industry...

Seriously though, I agree we need to get around Schumer.  But we shouldn't screw the rest of the party just to force the DEMOCRATIC Senate Campaign Committee to support the DEMOCRATIC candidate in Connecticut.  I say go with Democracy Bonds...

donating money to the institutions and candidates committed to electing Democrats.

I suppose the groundswell of support from the "Petitioning Democrats" will be enough to fill the DSCC coffers.

Possibly, Schumer et al are not promising to back the winner of the primary because if Lieberman wins, relations will be even more poisonous than before - not smart if we get the senate back by ONE vote and Lieberman is invited to join the rethugs...

BUT once the primary is over, I expect Schumer to back Lamont...or I. am. done.
